Eighteen Blugolds earn USTFCCCA All-Region honors

NEW ORLEANS, La. ( - The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has announced the All-Region honorees for the 2018 NCAA Division III indoor track & field season.


Among those honored in the Midwest Region from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's team was Sarah Glidden (Sr.-Greenville, WI/Hortonville), JoHannah Theisen (Sr.-Eau Claire, WI/Regis), Erica Oawster (Jr.-Lino Lakes, MN/Centennial), Mel Becker (Sr.-Osseo, WI/Homeschool), Ashleigh Buergi (Sr.-Green Bay, WI/Bay Port), Lizzy Keena (Fr.-Wisconsin Rapids, WI/Lincoln), and Glory Hecker (So.-Stone Lake, WI/Hayward Center).

For the men's team, the following Blugolds received All-Region honors: David Kornack (Sr.-Edgar, WI), Darin Lau (Eau Claire, WI/Immanuel), Dylan Cooper (So.-Holmen, WI), Aaron Zmolek (So.-Holmen, WI), KJ Munn (So.-Bayport, MN/St. Croix Prep), Dietrich Schwoerer (So.-McFarland, WI), Hunter Henk (So.-Beldenville, WI/River Falls), Brendon Paucek (Sr.-Sullivan, WI/Jefferson), Brandon Christnovich (Jr.-Holmen, WI), Dylan Lueck (So.-Germantown, WI/Wisconsin Lutheran), and Patrick Treacy (Jr.-Fall Creek, WI/Eau Claire Memorial).

The top-5 individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region distinction, in addition to each of the members of the region's top-3 relays teams. The regions used for this award – Atlantic, Central, Great Lakes, Mideast, Midwest, New England, South/Southeast and West – match those used during the cross country season.
