EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (blugolds.com) – After opening conference play last weekend with an impressive victory over University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, the UW-Eau Claire women's soccer team played the UW-Stevens Point Pointers to a 1-1 draw in double overtime Wednesday afternoon at Bollinger Field.
The Blugolds struck early when Monica Zoellner (Sr. – East Troy, WI) found the back of the net less than seven minutes into the first half, recording her third goal of the season. Eau Claire remained in control until the 64th minute, when Maddy Hardyman's goal knotted the game at one.
Neither team managed an overtime score, as the game ended 1-1. The Blugolds were able to keep the Pointers of the board in the extra period despite being outshot 3-1.
