DE PERE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's soccer team earned their first shutout of the season on Wednesday night, defeating St. Norbert 5-0.
Last year, Emily Sullivan (Jr. – Medina, MN/Wayzata) scored a season total of just five goals in 17 games but on Wednesday night, the midfielder would collect four goals for the Blugolds. Emma Stange (Fr. – Andover, MN/Anoka) and Krista Koenig (Fr. – Ringle, WI/DC Everest) both supplied assists of their own on the 4th and 5th goals.
Sammi Lefaive (Sr. – Coon Rapids, MN) would stop all five shots she faced and would get another point in the W column as she improves to 2-3.
The Blugolds also improve to 2-3 and are back in action on Sunday as they travel to St. Joseph, MN to take on Saint Benedict College at 2PM. Follow the action on Blugold Game Day or on the 'UWEC Blugolds' app on your mobile device.
