DUBUQUE, Iowa (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's soccer team fell in another close game on Saturday night, this one to No. 22 Loras College by a score of 2-1.
It was a defensive battle to start but Loras' Elizabeth Mills would sneak one past the Blugold defense to take a 1-0 lead at the 38:10 mark. For the half, the Duhawks edged the Blugolds 8-6 on shots.
UW-Eau Claire would be out-shot 8-1 in the second half but Jordyn Schoen (Jr. – Oswego, IL) would make the one shot count, scoring the Blugolds' first goal of the season at 48:26 off an assist from Monica Zoellner (Sr. – East Troy, WI).
However, the Duhawks would not be denied as Brynn Jacobi would connect on a header at 63:10 to net the game-winner.
Sammie Lefaive (Sr. – Coon Rapids, MN) would take the loss in goal for Eau Claire, tallying four saves on the night.
