EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (blugolds.com) - The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire soccer schedule is set for the 2018 season. Following a 5-11-1 season in 2017, the Blugolds are excited to get back onto the pitch and look to improve upon that record in the coming year.
The season kicks off on August 31 when Eau Claire travels to the Hawkeye State and plays the Dubuque Spartans. They follow that up with seven more non-conference games throughout the month of September, including the home opener against Macalester College on September 5.
Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) play begins on September 29, as the Blugolds host 2017 conference runner-up, UW-Whitewater. Also making the trek to Bollinger Field in 2018 will be UW-Stevens Point (Oct. 3), UW-Oshkosh (Oct. 13), and UW-Stout (Oct. 27) in the regular season finale.
That means the Blugolds will head to UW-Platteville (Oct. 6), defending conference champion UW-La Crosse (Oct. 20), and UW-River Falls (Oct. 24) to round out their WIAC schedule. The conference tournament is set to begin with the quarterfinals taking place October 30, the semifinals on November 1, and the WIAC Championship on November 3.
"This team feels like a family," said Head Coach Sean Yengo. "Everyone genuinely cares about each other and their well-being. I've never been on a team like this."
