EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire soccer team played their last non-conference game of the year as they hosted the University of St. Thomas Tommies. The Blugolds would not be able to find the back of the net as the Tommies took the 3-0 victory.
Despite being scoreless through the first 40 minutes of play, both teams combined for 16 shot attempts and four shots on goal. It would be with just under five minutes remaining, St. Thomas would strike. Paige Carter would find the back of after collecting a blocked shot. The Blugolds would look two the second half to even things up.
The Tommies had other plans. Brielle Bierman would score twice in the first seven minutes as St. Thomas would hold on to the lead for the rest of the game.
