Eau Claire, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's hockey team competed in game two of a weekend series with Lake Forest College on Saturday. After the dominant win a night before, the Blugolds kept the momentum high and cruised to a 6-1 victory.
Starting where they left off, the Blugolds tallied the game's first goal just over three minutes into the opening period. Taylor Treu (Jr. – Wausau, WI/West) would get credit for the first tally and Eau Claire would not let up there.
In the second frame, the Blugold special teams would strike for a second time this weekend after Elizabeth Bauer (Sr. – Wausau, WI/East) would extend the lead with her 9th goal of the year to open the middle period.
Twelve different Eau Claire players would get credited with points in the contest, led by Hallie Sheridan (Fr. – Fergus Falls, MN) who recorded three assists and Hanna Zavoral (Jr. – St. Paul, MN/Highland Park) who tallied two goals and seven shots in the game.
Goaltender Erin Connolly (Sr. – Mequon, WI/Homestead) stopped 19 of the 20 shots she faced on her way to her tenth win of the season. She is now 10-1-1.
