    EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – In a battle of two teams ranked in the top 10 of the USCHO.com poll, the 10th-ranked University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women’s hockey team fell to 7th-ranked UW-River Falls 2-1 on Saturday afternoon at Hobbs Ice Arena.

(Blugolds.com) - The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's hockey player Courtney Wittig (Green Bay, Wis./Bay Port) and women's basketball player Katie Essen (Farmington, Minn./Rosemount) have each been named Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Athletes of the Week, it was announced today by Assistant Commissioner of Media Relations Matt Stanek.

    EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women’s hockey team hosted UW-Superior Yellowjackets on Saturday. The Blugolds would have their second overtime game in a row and come out with a 5 to 4 win at Hobbs Ice Arena.

    EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugold.com) - The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women’s hockey team hosted another regional opponent from a year ago on Saturday. The Gutavus Adolphus Gusties came to town with both teams remembering the triple-overtime thriller last season in the NCAA Regional Tournament. With both teams playing to their own aggressive strengths and a five-minute overtime included, neither team would find the edge as the game would end in a 2-2 tie.

These athletes include women's volleyball player Madelyn Pashibin, women's hockey player Holly Turnbull, diver Dylan Glumac-Berberich (Fridley, Min.), and women's swimmer Sam Senczyszyn, Senior (Grafton, Wis.)

  • Blugolds' comeback falls short in home opener

    EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - The No. 9 University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women’s hockey team held their home opener on Saturday as they took on the No. 4 Hamline Pipers, a rematch of last season’s NCAA Second Round game. Before puck drop, the Blugolds unveiled their 2018 WIAC (Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) Championship banner, their first in program history. The Blugolds looked to continue their success from last season in their first game but fell short to the Pipers, 5-4.
