DE PERE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's basketball Head Coach Tonja Englund earned her 300th career win Tuesday night as the Blugolds defeated St. Norbert College 50-48 in overtime.
Coming off two big wins at home to start the season, the Blugold offense struggled on their first road trip. Eau Claire shot only 35.7 percent (20-56) from the field and failed to make a three-pointer (0-14).
However, the Blugold defense was able to hold the Green Knights to 34 percent (18-53) from the field and 38.5 percent (5-13) from three. The Blugolds also tallied 11 steals and forced 21 St. Norbert turnovers, which they converted into 21 points.
The Blugolds (3-0) will return to Zorn on Saturday when they host Minnesota-Morris at 3 p.m. Follow the action on Blugold Game Day.
