BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (Blugolds.com) – The No. 22 University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire softball team went 1-1 at the Illinois Wesleyan tournament on Saturday, falling to Millikin 6-0 and defeating No. 4 Illinois Wesleyan 5-3.
In game one, Millikin scored three runs in the first inning and three more in the fifth in the win, outhitting the Blugolds 9-4.
In game two, Eau Claire rallied for 11 hits, scoring two runs in the fourth and fifth and another in the sixth on their way to their 15th win of season.
After the Titans took an early 2-0 lead, Katie Rongstad's (Jr. – Slinger, WI) solo homerun in the bottom of the fourth got the Blugolds going. They would tie things up later in the inning thanks to a Maria Back (Fr. – Rosemount, MN) single.

Rongstad then scored after back-to-back singles by Meghan Witt (Fr. – Portage, WI) and Abbey Place (So. – Naperville, IL/Central). Eau Claire would add an insurance run in the sixth thanks to a Decker sacrifice fly.
Rongstad and Place both finished the game 2-for-4 to lead the Blugolds while Sarah Peka (Jr. – Chanhassen, MN/Minnetonka) held the Titans to just six hits as the Blugolds gave Wesleyan their first home loss of the season.
