STEVENS POINT, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire track and field teams competed at the UW-Stevens Point Pointer Invite on Saturday, with both teams finishing in third place.
The women tallied 150.833 points while Northern Michigan won the meet with 161 points. The men recorded 82 points with UW-Stevens Point winning with 245.5 points.
Winning events for the Blugolds:
Mariah Wendland (Jr. – Richfield, MN) – triple jump (10.87m, 35-8)
Tommie Brenner (Sr. – Reedsburg, WI) – pole vault (3.53m, 11-7)
David Lauritzen (Fr. – Wild Rose, WI) – triple jump (12.82m, 42-0.75)
Adam Lembke (So. – Waukesha, WI/West) – long jump (6.65m, 21-10)
Several Blugolds also had top three finishes, including:

David Kornack (Sr. – Edgar, WI) – 2nd place - shot put (17.54m, 57-6.5)
Braden Cousineau (Jr. – Woodbury, MN/Stillwater) – 3rd place – pole vault (4.35m, 14-3.25)
Ashley Agrimson (So. – Peterson, MN/Rushford-Peterson) – 2nd place - long jump (5.51m, 18-1)
Sarah Holappa (Fr. – Duluth, MN/East) – 3rd place – 60m hurdles (10.25)
Marin Munos (So. – Oswego, IL/Aurora West) – 2nd place – high jump (1.63m, 5-4.25)
Lizz Ottusch (Sr. – Delafield, WI/Kettle Moraine) – 3rd place -high jump (1.53m, 5-0.25)
Brianne Johnsrud (Sr. – Dodgeville, WI) – 2nd place – weight throw (15.35m)
In addition, throwers Erica Oawster (Sr. – Lino Lakes, MN/Centennial) and Kassandra Lueck (Jr. – Nowthen, MN/Anoka) competed at the Hamster Invitational (hosted by Macalester College) on Friday night, with Oawster winning the shot put with a throw of 14.56m (47-9.25) and Lueck taking second with a toss of 12.82m (42-0.75). Lueck also had a second place finish in the weight throw with a distance of 14.64m (48-0.5).
Next up for the Blugolds is the St. Thomas Invite in Minneapolis, Minn. on Friday, Feb. 8 at 3:30 p.m.
