EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (blugolds.com) - The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's hockey team announced their 2019-20 schedule.
The Blugolds, coming off a 19-7-2 record, will have another strong schedule that includes the expansion of the WIAC (Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) and a trip scheduled out to New York.
Eau Claire open the season at home with a non-conference tilt against Saint John's University (MN) on November 2nd at 7 p.m.
Competition in the WIAC will be at an all-time high with the recent addition of the Northland College Lumberjacks. Previously in the NCHA (National Collegiate Hockey Association), Northland College finished third with a record of 12-13-2 last year. The Blugolds held the series sweep in 2018 and with the addition of Northland, the WIAC competitors will now face opponents three times in a season.
The Blugolds will travel to Plattsburgh, New York directly after Thanksgiving to participate in the 2019 Primelink Great Northern Shootout. The Blugolds will be joined by three other notable hockey programs from around the country in this event: the Plattsburgh State Cardinals, the Middlebury Panthers, and the Norwich Cadets.
