The awards given out were the Wallace G. Avervik Award, Most Dedicated, Richard G. O’Brien Award and Jeff Jaraczewski MVP Award.

(Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men’s hockey team defeated UW-Superior 3-2 in overtime in the second game of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) semifinals (presented by Culver’s) to even the series and force the decisive mini game where the Blugolds won 2-0 to punch their ticket to the WIAC championship game.

(Blugolds.com) - The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men’s hockey team started Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Commissioner’s Cup playoff hockey on Friday evening. The Blugolds, being the #2 seed, hosted the UW-Superior Yellowjackets in game 1 of the semifinals. With high intensity and physical play, Eau Claire would fall to Superior, 2-0.

(Blugolds.com) - The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men’s hockey were tasked with WIAC (Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) play on Saturday evening as they hosted the UW-Superior Yellowjackets. Going into the game, the Blugolds held the second-place spot in conference standings and looked to remain there with a key victory against the third-place Yellowjackets. After a slow start, the Blugolds bounced back in the final two frames to secure a 4-2 victory.

(Blugolds.com) – UW-Eau Claire women's basketball player Hallee Hoeppner (Winona, Minn.), women's hockey goalie Erin Connolly (Mequon,Wis./ Homestead), men's hockey defenseman Adam Parsells (Wausau, WIs./West), men's swimmer Collin Miller (Rochester, Minn./Schaefer Academy), men's diver Dylan Glumac-Berberich (Fridley, Minn.), men's indoor track and field thrower David Kornack (Edgar, Wis.), and women't thrower Erica Oawster (Lino Lakes, Minn/ Centennial) have all been named Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Athletes of the Week, it was announced today by Assistant Commissioner of Media Relations Matt Stanek.

Coming in off a recent defeat on Friday, the Blugolds would swarm the Stout goaltender all night to come away with a 3-1 victory and their 17th win of the season.

Earlier in the season, the Blugolds and Falcons skated to a 2-2 after a last-minute goal by River Falls. Despite being down early, the Blugolds would take control in the third period and complete the comeback for their 16th win and 2nd conference win of the season.

This would be the 29th meeting between these teams dating back to 1979 with the Blugolds leading the series with a record of 17-9-2. With a win the previous night, the Blugolds kept the momentum with a 3-2 win.

The Blugolds entered the game ranked in the top 15 in both national polls due to their 5-game winning streak. The Tommies came in ranked #15 by USCHO.com as both teams looked for a win to gain momentum into the weekend. Special teams played a big part for the Blugolds as they went 1 for 4 on the powerplay and 6 for 6 on the penalty kill to earn a 2-1 win.

    ST. PAUL, Minn. (Blugolds.com) - The University of Wisconsin Eau Claire men’s hockey team capped off their weekend road trip versus another nonconference opponent in Hamline University. The Blugolds entered the game outshooting opponents on an average of 39 shots to 17 shots. The Blugolds trailed early on but came back as they overpowered the Pipers in a 5-2 victory.
