Women's Cross Country Finishes Third at River Falls Invite

RIVER FALLS, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire women's cross country team finished in third place out of nine teams at the UW-River Falls Falcon Invitational at Kilkarney Hills Golf Course today.

UW-La Crosse won the meet with 29 points while UW-Stevens Point took second with 56 and Eau Claire was third with 88.

Alana Jenkins (Sr.-Eau Claire, Wis./Memorial) led the Blugolds as she finished in 12th place with a time of 23:08.7 while Nikki Rendler (Sr.-Lodi, Wis.) came in 16th with a time of 23:16.9

The three remaining Blugolds to score points were Jamie Warner (Fr.-Waukesha, Wis./West), Katryna Williams (So.-Watertown, Wis.) and Jami Riley (Sr.-Fairmont, Minn.), who took 21st, 23rd and 24th place, respectively.

The Blugolds will be off next weekend before competing in two events the following week. Some of the team will be at the Saint Mary's Invitational on Sept. 27 while others will be at the University of Minnesota's Roy Griak Invitational on Sept. 28.
