Jodi Risen enters her eighth season as assistant volleyball coach in 2016-2017 at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
The blugolds finished their 2016-2017 season placing 4th in the WIAC with a 4-3 record, and a 27-10 record overall. They then went on to the NCAA Regional Tournament where they advanced to the second round.
Risen joined the UW-Eau Claire volleyball family in 2003 when she played for the Blugolds. In 2006 she received first team All-Conference awards. She led the team to a shared the WIAC Conference title in 2005 and 2006. Both of those years the Blugolds advanced to the Sweet Sixteen round of the NCAA tournament. She currently is tied for first in kills per match (29) and is ninth for overall attacks (2,782).
Between 2003-2009 Risen coached the Eau Claire 18’s Air Club.
Risen graduated from UW-Eau Claire in 2007 as a Sports Pedagogy major. She taught four year old kindergarten at Brighter Beginnings Early Learning Center from 2007-2012.
She is married to Matt Risen and the couple has one son (Camdyn) and one daughter (Chloe).
