Women's Outdoor Track & Field Takes Sixth at Phil Esten Challenge

LA CROSSE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire women's outdoor track & field team came in sixth place out of nine teams at UW-La Crosse's Phil Esten Challenge today.

The Blugolds scored 69.5 points while UW-La Crosse won with 203. UW-Oshkosh took second with 127 and Winona State University (Minn.) was third with 103.

Eau Claire claimed first place in two events.

Katryna Williams (So.-Watertown, Wis.) took first in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 11:24.36.

In the triple jump, Julia Stedman (So.-Maplewood, Minn./North St. Paul) took the top spot with a leap of 11.73 meters (38-6).

The Blugolds also had seven other finishes in the top five.

Next weekend the Blugolds will compete at three different meets, the Drake Relays and Gina Relays on Friday and Saturday, along with the Saint Mary's Open on Saturday.
