Women's Outdoor Track & Field Opens Season at Emory Invitational

ATLANTA, Ga. (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire women's outdoor track & field team opened the 2012 season today by taking 12th place at the Emory University Invitational.

The Blugolds competed in a total of 10 events and finished with 16 points. Emory won with 201 points while Hope College (Mich.) was second with 111.50.

Caitlin Brendum (Jr.-River Falls, Wis.) had the Blugolds' best finish as she took first in the hammer throw with a toss of 45.61 meters (149-7).

Five other Blugolds came away with top-10 finishes.

The Blugolds will have next weekend off and will be back in action at the Wartburg College Select on April 6.
