Fair Selected to Academic All-District Team for Second Straight Season

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – For the second year in a row, UW-Eau Claire women's swimmer Grace Fair (Jr.-Monticello, Minn.) has been named to the Capital One Academic All-District Six At-Large First Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Fair is a mass communications major with a 3.94 GPA.

She swam in seven different events at the WIAC Championship this and was also named a WIAC Judy Kruckman Scholar-Athlete. Her top finishes at conference were runner-up finishes in both the 800-yard freestyle relay and the 100-yard freestyle.

Fair is part of one school record, the 200-yard freestyle relay, which was set during the 2010-11 season.

In order to be eligible for the Academic All-America® program, nominees must: be a starter or important reserve with legitimate athletic credentials; have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.30 (on a 4.0 scale) in both undergrad and graduate work; have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at the institution and completed at least one calendar year at the institution; have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's games; and be nominated by the school's sports information director.
