MADISON, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – UW-Eau Claire women's soccer player Paige LeGate (Jr.-Green Bay, Wis./Bay Port) has been named a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Athlete of the Week on offense, Assistant Commissioner for Media Relations Matt Stanek announced today.
The Blugolds recorded two victories last week to push their winning streak to four games. Hosting UW-Oshkosh on Sept. 29, LeGate scored the game's first goal and picked up an assist on what proved to be the game-winning goal in a 4-2 victory to hand the Titans their first loss of the season. UW-Oshkosh entered the game ranked No. 15 in the NSCAA national poll and No. 1 in the North Region. In a 5-1 win over Luther College (Iowa) on Sept. 26, she finished with two shots, including one on goal.
This is the third week in a row a Blugold has earned the offensive player of the week award in the conference.
