Women's Gymnastics Narrowly Beats Hamline

ST. PAUL, Minn. (Blugolds.com) - The UW-Eau Claire gymnastics team narrowly got by Hamline University (Minn.), defeating the Pipers 180.150-179.800 tonight.

The win over Hamline was the Blugolds' first in a dual meet since December 13, 2002 when Eau Claire won 171.075-165.775.

On the balance beam, Schulzetenberg won with a season-high score of 9.450. Cece Solem (So.-Mendota Heights, Minn./Henry Sibley) scored a third place finish with a mark of 9.100.

While the Blugolds finished with a season-high score of 43.975 on the uneven bars, Rachel Behmer (So.-Maple Grove, Minn./West Lutheran) had the team's top finish as she took second place. Her score of 9.300 was a season-high.

In the floor exercise, Hamline took the top three spots while Solem had the Blugolds' best finish as she took fourth with a score of 9.275.
