EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – UW-Eau Claire women's basketball player Sarah Bingea (Sr.-Delano, Minn.) has been named to the 2012-13 Capital One Academic All-District Six first team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
Bingea, an elementary education major with a 3.96 GPA, leads the Blugolds in scoring this season with an average of 12.5 points per game (238 points in 19 games), a mark that ranks seventh best in the WIAC. She also averages 7.6 rebounds per game, which leads the team and is second best in the conference. Bingea currently has the top free throw shooting percentage on the team at 77.1 percent and ranks first in the WIAC in average minutes played per game (34.63).
Because of her first team selection, Bingea advances to the Capital One Academic All-America Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
