Blugolds Run Past LeTourneau University
LONGVIEW, Texas (Blugolds.com)—A windy day in Longview found a UW-Eau Claire Softball Team feeling slightly at home in the brisk East Texas weather. The sun broke through the clouds as the bats of the Blugolds found pitch after pitch to send through the infield, allowing them to pick up two big wins against LeTourneau University on the tail end of their spring break trip.

Softball Sweeps UT-Dallas
DALLAS, Texas (Blugolds.com)—After two losses Monday evening to No. 4 UT-Tyler, the UW-Eau Claire Softball team came back with a vengeance against UT-Dallas. Timely hits and big defensive plays would help the Blugolds sweep the Comets with scores of 9-5 and 10-2 respectively.

No. 2 East Texas Baptist Barely Gets Past Blugolds
MARSHALL, Texas (Blugolds.com)— The UW-Eau Claire softball team put a fight at East Texas Baptist University on Wednesday afternoon in a Military Appreciation Day doubleheader. The No. 2 ranked Tigers faced a Blugold team fresh off a sweep of UT-Dallas on Tuesday night who were ready to fight for another two wins. Unfortunately, UW-Eau Claire could not capitalize and fell to ETBU 3-2 (8 innings) and 1-0.

TYLER, Texas (Blugolds.com)— In their third double header of the spring break series, UW-Eau Claire couldn’t contain the hitting power the University of Texas-Tyler. The Patriots defeated the Blugolds in 5 innings by an 11-2 score and again in 6 innings, 9-1.

In the opening day of their spring break play, the UWEC Softball team couldn’t find the big hits to bring home a win against Illinois Wesleyan University. The Blugolds fell 2-1 and 3-1, respectively, in the first of 14 games they will play over the next ten days.

Softball Splits Doubleheader with Titans
EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) — As the end of the softball season approaches, every game holds more importance as the teams gear up for the WIAC tournament. With home field advantage and higher seeds still up for grabs, UW-Eau Claire and UW-Oshkosh squared off for a doubleheader Saturday afternoon at Gelein Field in Carson Park. With the two teams matched up so closely in the conference, it was no surprise that they split the doubleheader, with the Titans taking game one, 7-5 and the Blugolds taking game two, 6-1.

(Blugolds.com) — The UW-Eau Claire softball team may have technically been the visitors on the scoreboard, but with poor field conditions in Superior, the Blugolds picked up two more home games, and they took advantage as they completed the doubleheader sweep over UW-Superior. UW-Eau Claire defeated the Yellowjackets 2-0 in the first game and 15-2 in five innings in the second game on a cloudy afternoon at Gelein Field in Carson Park.

Softball Survives Wild Second Game with Falcons to Pick up Sweep
RIVER FALLS, Wis. (Blugolds.com) — Coming off a doubleheader sweep of UW-Stevens Point, the UW-Eau Claire softball team is hitting the home stretch of their schedule. Today they traveled to River Falls for a WIAC doubleheader with the Falcons. The Blugolds came out strong and picked up another sweep with a 6-1 win in game one, and a wild, back-and-forth 11-6 win in game two.

Softball Drops Two in Final Day at Illinois Wesleyan Tournament
BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (Blugolds.com) — The second day of the Illinois Wesleyan Tournament did not go as well as the first day for the UW-Eau Claire softball team. After picking up a pair of wins against the 25th and 21st-ranked teams in the nation, they were in for two more tough tests on Sunday. In a rematch with Washington University (Mo.), the Blugolds fell 4-2 in the first game of the day and against 19th-ranked host Illinois Wesleyan, they fell 6-0 in the second game of the day.

Softball Takes Down Two Ranked Teams at IWU Tournament
BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (Blugolds.com) – Competing on the first day of the Illinois Wesleyan Tournament, the UW-Eau Claire softball team hit eight home runs and picked up two wins against nationally-ranked teams today. Against 25th-ranked Washington University (Mo.), the Blugolds won 8-0 in six innings while taking down 21st-ranked Anderson University (Ind.) 10-1 in five innings.

Softball Can't Avoid Sweep by Rival Stout
EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) — It’s been a long time since the UW-Eau Claire softball team has played a game at Gelein Field, their actual home field. Last season weather forced all of the home games to be played at Bollinger Field, and this spring, the weather has been rather unkind again, forcing the Blugolds back to Bollinger Field for their doubleheader matchup with UW-Stout. The Blugolds fell in a shootout in game one, 8-6, and in game two, it was the Blue Devils that were victorious again, this time in extra innings, with an 8-4 win.
