TUCSON, Ariz. (Blugolds.com) - The UW-Eau Claire softball team is playing 10 games in five days at the Tucson Invitational Games during Spring Break.
Sunday, March 16
Taking on two opponents on the first day of its Spring Break trip at the Tucson Invitational Games, the softball team won both games today, starting with an 18-10 win in six innings against Augsburg College (Minn.) and following with a 7-0 victory over Marian University.
Monday, March 17
With the snow returning in Wisconsin, the UW-Eau Claire softball team was enjoying a sunny day in Arizona on their second day of their spring break trip. Coming off two wins in their first action on Sunday, they picked up two more wins with an 11-2 win in five innings over Crown College (Minn.) and a 3-0 victory over Denison University (Ohio).
Tuesday, March 18
The UW-Eau Claire softball team split on its third day on Spring Break at the Tucson Invitational Games, falling to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (Calif.) 7-4 in eight innings but bouncing back to beat Grinnell College (Iowa) 12-1 in five innings.
Thursday, March 20
After dropping their first game of the spring break trip in Arizona on Tuesday in extra innings, the UW-Eau Claire softball team had the day off on Wednesday. They fell to the University of La Verne in the first game 8-4, but they rallied in the second game to defeat Gustavus Adolphus (Minn.) in extra innings, 6-5.
Friday, March 21
The UW-Eau Claire softball team went 1-1 today, wrapping up its Spring Break trip at the Tucson Invitational Games with a 7-3 record. The Blugolds opened the day with a 5-2 loss to Chapman University (Calif.) and then bounced back to beat Whittier College (Calif.) 9-0 in five innings.
