MADISON, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – UW-Eau Claire softball player Nikki Bromelkamp (Sr.-Zumbrota, Minn./Zumbrota-Mazeppa) has been selected as a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Athlete of the Week, Assistant Commissioner for Media Relations Matt Stanek announced today.
Bromelkamp helped the Blugolds to a 3-1 record this week, leading the team with a .583 batting average as she went 7-for-12. She had a team-best four doubles while recording seven RBI and a team-high 11 total bases for a .917 slugging percentage. She also had an on-base percentage of .571 and scored two runs. On Saturday in an 11-10 win over St. Scholastica (Minn.), Bromelkamp had three hits and four RBI and scored one of the Blugolds' four runs in the seventh as the Blugolds came from behind to win. On defense, she finished with 17 putouts and two assists with no errors.
