EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – UW-Eau Claire men's track & field member Tyler Genovese (Sr.-Stevens Point, Wis./SPASH) has been selected to the 2011-12 Capital One Academic All-District Six Men's Track/Cross Country first team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Genovese, an actuarial science major with a 3.84 GPA, participated in throws for the indoor and outdoor track and field teams.

This season he won a national title at the NCAA Division III Championships in the weight throw, helping lead the team to a second-place finish. He became just the sixth Blugold in program history to win an indoor national title. At outdoor nationals this season, Genovese was runner-up in the discus throw while taking fifth in the hammer throw.

Genovese holds school records in three events, the indoor weight throw and the outdoor hammer and discus throws.
