Steen Sets School Record as Blugolds Place Second in Pointer Eastbay Invitational

STEVENS POINT, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - The UW-Eau Claire men's track team competed in the Pointer Eastbay Invitational on Saturday, coming away in second place.

Results

Roger Steen (Sr. Luck, Wis.) won the shot put with a throw of 59-05.00, breaking the school record for the second time this season.

Erik Rosvold (Jr. Apple Valley, Minn.) claiming first in the mile with a time of 4:17.70 while teammate Matt Cooper (So. Ashwaubenon, Wis.) took second in the same event with a time of 4:17.97.

Two Blugolds placed in the 400-meter, Jimmy Paske (So. Minnetonka, Minn.) taking second with a time of 50.78 seconds and Connor Drexler (So. Baraboo, Wis.) finishing in third in 51.05 seconds.

Rylan Page (Sr. Milwaukee, Wis.) finished third in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.38 seconds, and Matt Dietlin (So. Fitchburg, Wis.) came in third in the high jump with a mark of 6-05.50. 

The Blugolds will now prepare for the WIAC championship, which begins on Friday, Feb. 27.
