INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Blugolds.com) - UW-Eau Claire men's diver Nick Badilla (So.-Appleton, Wis./North) has been selected to compete at the 2011 NCAA Division III Championships, NCAA officials announced today.

The championships will be contested March 23-26 in Knoxville, Tenn. Badilla will compete in both the one and three-meter dives. Six Blugold women were also selected for nationals recently.

Badilla is making his second appearance at nationals in just his second year with the Blugolds.

A season ago at nationals, he finished 12th in the three-meter dive while taking 21st in the one-meter.

Badilla competed well throughout this season and highlighted the year with third place finishes in both the one and three-meter events at the WIAC Championships. He also set a UW-Eau Claire pool record on Nov. 19 with a score of 335.70 in the three-meter dive.
