MADISON, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – UW-Eau Claire men's hockey goalie Brandon Stephenson (Jr.-Saline, Mich.) has been named a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Athlete of the Week, WIAC Assistant Commissioner for Media Relations Matt Stanek announced today.

Stephenson helped lead the Blugolds to a win and an overtime tie with UW-Superior during the week. On Friday night, Stephenson had 24 saves against the Yellowjackets. He came back Saturday night and collected 13 saves in the 2-2 overtime tie. Stephenson leads the WIAC in goals against, averaging 1.9 goals allowed per game. He also has the second-highest save percentage at .920.
