Men's Golf Finishes Sixth at Saint John's Spring Invite

MONTICELLO, Minn. (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire men's golf team finished in sixth place out of 16 teams following two rounds of competition at the Monticello Country Club today.

The Blugolds finished with 587 strokes while St. Cloud State University (Minn.) won the event with 573. Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) was second with 577.

Devin Holmes of St. Cloud State won medalist honors, finishing with 135 strokes, seven under par, in the 89-golfer field.

Jimmy Hutchings (Sr.-Hudson, Wis.) led the Blugolds as he tied for seventh with an even score of 142.

Also in the top 20 was Tim McCormick (Jr.-Madison, Wis./Memorial), who tied for 20th with 146 strokes.

Friday, the Blugolds will close the regular season at the Edgewood College Spring Invitational at Bishops Bay Country Club in Middleton.
