Matt Kender enters his 13th season in 2015-2016 as part of the coaching staff for the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire football team, his eighth season as offensive coordinator.
Kender came to the UW-Eau Claire in 2003 to earn his Masters of Education-Professional Development degree. That year he joined the Blugolds coaching staff as a tight ends coach. Between 2004-2010 Kender was the offensive line coach. In 2007 the Blugolds were participants in the NCAA Division III playoffs. As offensive coordinator, Kender coaches the quarterbacks, tight ends, and wide receivers.
Kender earned his bachelor’s degree in physical education at Augustana College in 2003. At Augustana he was a four-year starter at right guard. In 2001 and 2002 he earned All-Conference honors. He played in the 2002 Cactus Bowl, the DII All-Star game.
Aside from the football program, Kender also works in the UW-Eau Claire University Sports and Recreation Facilities department.
Kender is Mukwonago, Wisconsin native.
