EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – UW-Eau Claire Athletics has announced the 2014 schedules for football, women's soccer and women's volleyball.
Football will open the season on Sept. 6 at the University of St. Thomas (Minn.) for the second straight year. They will be at home for the first time, one of five home games, on Sept. 13 against Saint John's University (Minn.). The following weekend the Blugolds will play Wheaton College (Ill.) for the first time in history.
After a bye week, Eau Claire will open conference play on Oct. 4 against UW-Platteville for Homecoming. Four of the teams the Blugolds will face next season were ranked in the final D3football.com poll from 2013. View 2014 Football Schedule
Women's soccer will begin the new season on Aug. 29 at Hamline University (Minn.) and will be at home of the first time on Sept. 6 against the College of Saint Benedict (Minn.). Eau Claire will have streaks of home and away games starting with two on the road, followed by four at home, four on the road, four at home, two on the road and will then play at home on Oct. 29 and away on Nov. 1 to finish the regular season. Women's volleyball will open the season on Aug. 29, playing four matches at the College of Saint Benedict Labor Day Tournament. The Blugolds will compete in five different tournaments throughout the regular season, two of them at home. Eau Claire will be at home for the first time on Sept. 19, hosting the two-day Sandy Schumacher Memorial Tournament. The Blugolds will also host the UW-Eau Claire Fall Classic, Oct. 17-18.
