Just south of the university’s Upper Campus is a 40-acre tract now known as the Bollinger Fields, renamed during the summer of 1998 in honor of Blugold Hall of Famer and former Assistant Chancellor Jim Bollinger. The site includes four softball fields, three soccer fields and a rugby field. At Bollinger, the women’s soccer team hosts games on Field No. 5 while the softball team holds practice regularly at the complex. The Bollinger soccer fields were renovated in 2010 with new dugouts and a scoreboard.
