Intern: Assistant Director of Compliance and Student-Athlete Well-Being
A full-time professional academic staff position is available in Athletics at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire to serve as an Intern. The working title is Assistant Director of Compliance and Student-Athlete Well-Being, and the position has an anticipated start date of July 30, 2013. The intern is required to attend an NCAA intern orientation and training session in Indianapolis, IN, on August 1-2, 2013. The internship is being funded through the NCAA Division III Ethnic Minority and Women's Internship Grant Program. This is a two-year internship that runs August through May (10 months) each year, and is not renewable at the end of the grant. The nature of this internship is such that a considerable amount of evening and weekend work is necessary.
Athletics anticipates having several part-time and potentially full-time, temporary academic staff vacancies during an academic year. We are seeking to create a pool of qualified candidates to be considered for these potential vacancies:
Athletic Positions
The Athletics Program sponsors 20 sports including: softball, women's golf, men's golf, women's ice hockey, men's ice hockey, women's basketball, men's basketball, football, women's track and field, men's track and field, women's cross country, men's cross country, women's soccer, wrestling, gymnastics, volleyball, women's swimming and diving, men's swimming and diving, women's tennis, men's tennis. Most sports have a head coach with one or more assistant coaches. In addition, assistance is needed in sports information, eligibility and compliance, strength and conditioning, sport camps coordination, facilities coordination, event management, business management, development and fundraising, and athletic training.
Applicants for Athletics positions must have a Bachelor's degree. A Master's degree, prior college experience and previous experience with the Blugold program may be considered an asset as well as an individual's ability to fill more than one position for the department.
