Wagner led the Blugolds this weekend at the O’Brien National Invitational in Indiana, as she tied for third place out 63 golfers with 154 strokes (+10). At the two-day event, the Blugolds came in fifth place out of 10 teams, all of which were teams in the top 15 in the latest Golf World/WGCA Top 25 poll.
Moore was part of a Blugold defense that gave up just 19 shots in two games, including eight on-goal, while Eau Claire finished with 28 shots, 11 of which were on-goal. The Blugolds shut out UW-Stout on Wednesday as they won 2-0 while giving up two goals to UW-Whitewater on Saturday in a 2-1 loss.
Williams scored two goals this week as the Blugolds beat UW-Stout 2-0 Wednesday while coming up short 2-1 to UW-Whitewater on Saturday. Facing the Blue Devils, Williams found the back of the goal at 58:42 to give Eau Claire a 2-0 lead. She also picked up the assist on the Blugolds’ first goal of the game. Saturday, taking on Whitewater, the Blugolds were down 2-0 before Williams cut the lead to one at 57:36 with a goal. She now has five points on the season.
Bachmeier and Johnson won two No. 2 doubles matches this weekend as the Blugolds beat Wartburg College (Iowa) 8-1 and St. Norbert College 9-0. Against Wartburg, the pair won 8-4 while picking up an 8-0 victory against their St. Norbert opponents.
In two matches this weekend, Bachmeier won twice in the No. 3 spot. Facing her Wartburg College (Iowa) opponent Saturday, she won 6-0, 6-0 and followed with a 6-1, 6-0 victory competing against St. Norbert College. As a team, the Blugolds beat Wartburg 8-1 and St. Norbert 9-0.
Sutherland helped the Blugolds to a 3-1 record this weekend at the Cornell College Classic. Playing in 16 sets during the two-day event, Sutherland led the Blugolds in digs in all four matches, compiling a total of 78. She also had four service aces and four set assists along with one kill. Saturday against Bethel University (Minn.), Sutherland recorded 27 digs, the fourth highest single match total she has reached in her career with Eau Claire.
