In two games this weekend, Stephenson made 61 saves as the Blugolds won against two conference opponents to take over first place in the NCHA. Friday night against second-ranked St. Norbert College, Stephenson stopped 40 shots as the Blugolds defeated the Green Knights 3-0. It was just the second time in history the Blugolds shutout St. Norbert and was the first time the Green Knights didn’t scored a goal in nearly a year. Saturday at UW-Stevens Point, Stephenson made 21 saves and the Blugolds went on to win 3-2. The victory was Stephenson’s 40th career win, tying for first in school history for most wins in a career with Tom Johnson (1980-84). It was also his 14th win of the season, one behind a school record for most wins in a season.
