Competing in two conference games this week, Petersen averaged 13.5 points, shooting 55 percent (11-for-20) from the field, and 3.5 rebounds. Against UW-Platteville on Wednesday, a game the Blugolds came up just short 56-48, Petersen tied for a game-high four assists while he scored 10 points. Saturday against third-ranked UW-Whitewater, Petersen led four Blugolds reaching double-digits in scoring as he finished with 17 points while also tying for a team-best four rebounds.
Badilla won both the one and three-meter diving events as the Blugolds competed at the St. Thomas Invitational on Friday and Saturday. In the three-meter dive, he set a meet record with a mark of 285.25 while scoring 247.60 in the one-meter. As a team, the Blugolds took second place.
Competing at the St. Thomas Invitational this weekend, where the Blugolds finished second, Card swam in seven events and set a pool and meet record in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:10.44. He was also second in two other individual events and two relays.
In two WIAC games this week, Lewis averaged 16 points going 13-for-22 (59.1 percent) from the field and 4.5 rebounds. She also finished the week with four assists and two steals. Wednesday in a 62-57 overtime win against UW-Platteville, she inbounded the ball for Eau Claire with 1.3 seconds left in regulation and found Teenie Lichtfuss, who nailed a basket at the buzzer to tie the game at 49. Lewis finished that game with 13 points, second most on the team, and three rebounds. Saturday she tied for a team-high with 19 points against 14th-ranked UW-Whitewater. She also pulled down six rebounds.
Kane scored two goals this weekend as the Blugolds pushed their winning streak to four and brought their undefeated streak to six games going back to November 10. Saturday, Kane scored the Blugolds’ third goal which eventually proved to the game-winner early in the third period, as Eau Claire defeated Marian University 3-2. The goal was the first of her career with the Blugolds. Sunday she got the Blugolds going with a goal at 13:03 in the first period and Eau Claire went on to win the game over Marian 4-1.
In two matches Saturday, Rieckhoff was undefeated as he wrestled in two different weight classes. Facing UW-Platteville’s Dylan DeShane at 197 pounds, he scored six points after pinning DeShane in 27 seconds. He then followed with a 17-4 major decision victory over St. Olaf College’s Mark Shepard at 184 pounds. Rieckhoff is now 9-3 on the season.
Baker won both the one and three-meter dives this weekend at the St. Thomas Invitational, where the Blugolds finished second. She won the three-meter dive Friday with 219.45 points and took first in the one-meter Saturday with a score of 221.75.
Fair won two events this weekend as the Blugolds took second at the St. Thomas Invitational. She took first in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.29 seconds and won the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 54.89 seconds. Fair was also part of two relay teams that came in second place.
