Neu had a career day as the Blugolds defeated UW-Stout 24-10. Neu completed 19 passes on 24 attempts and finished with a career-high 349 yards passing. His previous career-high was 344 yards which he reached against Stout one year ago. He threw two touchdowns, one of 23 yards and another of 29 yards.
Easker led the Blugolds to a sixth place finish out of 22 teams at the Blugold Invitational at Whitetail Golf Course on Friday. He finished with an 8K time of 25:25.1, taking sixth place out of 372 runners.
Stingley and Robertson won the doubles title at the Midwest Open this weekend. The Blugold pair relinquished just four games in the first two matches and won by no less than a three-game margin in each match. Robertson and Stingley completed their run with an 8-3 victory over a St. Olaf team Sunday afternoon. The duo was the third Blugold pair in the last decade to win the Midwest Open doubles competition.
At the ITA Tournament this weekend, Vande Linde made it to the round of 16, winning three rounds and beating a seeded player in the process. After a trio of victories - including a 6-3, 6-3 win over the No. 10 seed - Vande Linde also had a tight, three-set battle. Vande Linde came up one game short, falling 1-6, 6-1, 7-6.
Sybilrud led the Blugolds to a third place finish out of 19 teams on Friday at the Blugold Invitational at Whitetail Golf Course. She finished 10th out of 341 runners with a time of 22:32.6 on the 6K course and was the top finisher amongst WIAC competitors.
Moore was part of a defense that allowed just 10 shots, only four on-goal, in two games this weekend. Against Macalester College (Minn.) on Sunday, the Blugolds won 3-0 and didn’t allow a single shot on goal, the first time the Scots haven’t had one since September 5, 2006. Moore and the Blugolds allowed just four shots on goal against UW-Platteville, a team the Blugolds beat 2-1 in double overtime Saturday.
Richter had three shots and one goal this weekend as the Blugolds picked up two wins. Sunday against Macalester College (Minn.), a team ranked higher in the region than the Blugolds, Richter scored the Blugolds’ second goal in a 3-0 victory. She had two shots in that game and recorded another shot against UW-Platteville on Saturday. The Blugolds beat Platteville 2-1 in double overtime.
In one match this week, DeMario helped the Blugolds to a 5-4 win over Lawrence University. She won at No. 6 singles, giving up just one game to finish with scores of 6-0, 6-1. In singles play, she is 4-1 on the season.
Slinger led the Blugolds in kills this weekend as the team split at the Wartburg Knights Classic. Playing in four matches and 15 sets, she finished with 47 kills and a hitting percentage of .384. Slinger had no fewer than nine kills in the four matches, finishing in double-figures three times. She also had 11 digs, 11 block assists and two service aces.
